The wintry nature in Gurgl invites you to pause and marvel. On sunny winter hiking trails or snowshoeing through the snow-covered Swiss stone pine forest, you can experience the alpine world up close and relaxed. 12 km of cleared and signposted winter hiking trails around Obergurgl and Hochgurgl offer variety and new perspectives. Fresh air makes you hungry: the Zirbenalm or the Schönwieshütte are particularly suitable as a rewarding destination for your snowshoe or winter hike in Gurgl.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN GURGL
Winter sports enthusiasts will be in top form on a total of 12 km of cross-country ski trails in Gurgl. In Obergurgl you will find a 3 km long practice trail and a 7 km long regular trail. In Hochgurgl there is also a 2 km high-altitude trail. The entrance to the cross-country ski trail is directly in front of the Hotel Wiesental. The Obergurgl ski school offers ski courses as well as cross-country skiing courses.

TOBOGGANING IN GURGL
Tobogganing is something for the whole family, a nice change from skiing and lots of fun. The natural toboggan run in Pill (at the Hochgurglbahn cable car) offers 25 bends over a length of 3 km and provides plenty of tobogganing fun. A highlight is the weekly night-time tobogganing on an illuminated run.

Horse fans will be delighted with the nearby riding centre, which offers private and group lessons. The Gurgl Carat event centre is also just a few minutes' walk from the Hotel Wiesental.
